Hosted by Fujifilm BI… 179 Entries from 16 Countries Worldwide
Korean Printing Specialist Tara TPS was awarded Excellence in the 'Special Color' Category
FUJIFILM Business Innovation (referred to as Fujifilm BI) recently announced the winners of the 'Global Innovation Print Awards 2024' (a.k.a GIPA 2024) and held the award ceremony at the Fujifilm BI booth during 'Durupa 2024' in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Celebrating its 17th year, 'GIPA 2024' is an event organized by Fujifilm BI to promote the expansion of the printing industry through the integration of digital printing technology and graphic communication. This year, the competition expanded its reach from the Asia-Pacific region to a global scale, attracting 179 entries from 16 countries, including Germany, India, Sweden, the UK, and the Netherlands.
The submitted products were judged in two main categories: applications, which included calendars, brochures, catalogs, and flyers in 13 subcategories, and printing technology, which comprised five subcategories including sustainability and special color usage. An external panel of printing industry experts evaluated the entries based on ▲print quality, ▲innovation, ▲business effectiveness, and▲creativity to select the final award winners.
This year's competition featured submissions that uniquely integrated various applications, technologies, and colors, moving beyond traditional printing methods. Many entries stood out for using special colors, underscoring the important role of special toners in the design of the digital printing market.
Following the judging process, WEGNER GmbH of Germany was awarded the prestigious ‘Best Innovation Awards 2024 Global Prize,’ and 31 companies from eight countries received recognition for their achievenments across various categories. Tara TPS, a print specialist company in South Korea, led by CEO Kang Ho-Yeon, stood out as the only domestic company to receive an Excellence Award in the ‘Special Color Usage’ category. Tara TPS caught the judges' attention with their entry of a sample photocard tailored for the K-POP merchandise industry, highlighting the incorporation of silver, clear, white, and pink special toners in their Revoria Press™ PC1120 color digital printer.
